Bedas Mental Health provides adult psychiatric evaluation and medication management through one verified Miami-area office. It also coordinates a separate external neurology referral and teleneurology collaboration pathway when appropriate. Adults physically located in Florida can ask whether telepsychiatry is available and appropriate. Conditions describe what may be affecting you; services describe how care is delivered.

01What is a psychiatric evaluation?A psychiatric evaluation is a structured conversation that reviews symptoms, history, health context, medications, daily functioning, and safety before deciding on next steps.OpenClose

You can begin by describing what has changed in your own words. The psychiatrist may ask when symptoms started, how often they happen, what makes them better or worse, and how they affect sleep, work, relationships, concentration, or safety.

The visit may also review medical history, family history, substance use, prior treatment, current prescriptions, over-the-counter products, vitamins, supplements, and available records. An evaluation does not promise a diagnosis, prescription, or specific treatment before the relevant information is reviewed.

  • Current symptoms and the questions you want answered
  • Mental health, medical, family, and treatment history
  • Current medications, supplements, response, and side effects
  • Daily functioning, sleep, substance use, and safety
02What does medication management include?Medication management means reviewing whether a psychiatric medication is helping, causing side effects, interacting with other treatments, or needs a carefully discussed change.OpenClose

Medication decisions are individualized. The psychiatrist may review the reason for each medication, how consistently it is taken, benefits noticed, unwanted effects, past trials, allergies, pharmacy information, and relevant medical or laboratory needs.

Do not stop or change a prescribed medication based only on website information. A visit does not guarantee that a medication will be started, continued, changed, or prescribed; the decision depends on the evaluation, safety, records, applicable rules, and clinical judgment.

  • Benefits, side effects, and adherence
  • Interactions with prescriptions, supplements, or substances
  • Questions about dose, timing, or prior medication trials
  • Monitoring, records, labs, or in-person needs when relevant
03How are follow-up visits planned?Follow-up is planned around the purpose of care, response to the agreed plan, safety, and any records or coordination still needed.OpenClose

A follow-up may review symptom changes, functioning, medication response, side effects, questions, adherence, and whether the plan still fits. The timing and setting vary by clinical need and office availability.

Some patients may also benefit from psychotherapy, primary-care follow-up, laboratory work, records, or another level of support. This page does not promise psychotherapy as a direct Bedas service; ask the office whether it is available directly or whether coordination or referral may be appropriate.

04What is the difference between services and conditions?Services explain how psychiatric care is delivered; condition pages explain the symptoms and questions connected with a particular concern.OpenClose

For example, anxiety, depression, adult ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, insomnia, schizophrenia, and dementia-related psychiatric symptoms are conditions or concerns. Psychiatric evaluation, medication management, neurology coordination, and telepsychiatry are distinct service paths that may support the next step.

You do not need to choose the correct diagnosis before contacting the office. Start with the concern closest to your experience, then ask which service and visit setting make sense.

05Can these services be delivered by telehealth?Adults physically located in Florida can ask whether evaluation, medication questions, or follow-up may be handled by private video for the purpose of the visit.OpenClose

Telepsychiatry is a real psychiatric appointment by video, but it is not automatically the right setting for every person, medication question, or level of risk. The office should confirm location, privacy, technology, records, clinical fit, and whether an in-person visit is needed.

All Bedas in-person appointments use the one verified Miami-area office. The regional pages explain access from nearby communities; they are not additional offices.

  • One physical Miami-area office
  • Ask about video while physically located in Florida
  • The office confirms availability and clinical fit
  • Urgent or unsafe situations need emergency support instead
06What should I confirm before scheduling?Confirm the reason for the visit, availability, office or video setting, language preference, insurance details, and any records the office needs.OpenClose

When you contact Bedas, describe the main concern in plain language and mention current medications or an urgent scheduling issue without sending detailed private clinical information through an ordinary website message.

Insurance participation and coverage vary by plan. Contact the office or your insurer to confirm benefits before the appointment, and ask what documents, medication list, pharmacy details, or prior records to prepare.

  • New evaluation, medication question, or follow-up
  • Office or possible Florida video visit
